Slowness is a revolutionary act: an invitation to abandon the frantic pace of daily life to rediscover, in the heart of Bassa Lodigiana, the beauty that surrounds us and the depth of human connections.
Traveling isn't about reaching your destination, but seeing the world up close. For those cycling the cycle route or walking the river trails, every stop is an opportunity to discover its richness and build authentic connections.
Diversity is a precious resource and meeting others is an opportunity to grow. In a solidarity hostel, every nuance of people is a gift to discover and value as wealth for the community.
Beauty doesn't lie in perfection, but in the stories of objects. Our furnishings, born from creative recovery, testify that reuse generates new life, reducing the environmental impact of our hospitality.
Let empathy guide encounters. Every traveler carries a world of experiences, and in our common spaces, words can weave unbreakable bonds between people and territories.
Every choice, from recycling to local food, is a step toward a responsible future. We promote green tourism, mindful of protecting the river landscape and safeguarding the environment that hosts us.
When you leave, take a piece of Casa Peroni with you. Not just memories, but the essence of this place. Be ambassadors of slowness, inclusion and regeneration, wherever you go.
Casa Peroni is a declination of the TWIN model, a solidarity reception system designed by the SoSlab (Soil and Slowness Lab) research unit of the Polytechnic University of Milan. The project combines slow tourism, social inclusion and the recovery of unused spaces. After its success at the Cisa Pass —between Sentiero Italia CAI and Via Francigena—, the model arrives in Castelnuovo Bocca d’Adda thanks to synergy with the municipal administration and the resources of Borghilenti.
Casa Peroni is the first solidarity hostel on the VENTO cycle path, but aims to become the hub of a larger network of Capanne TWIN. The goal is to create a system of widespread hospitality in various forms: from temporary structures that anticipate the creation of new refuges, as at Cisa, to entire buildings redeveloped and repurposed, as in the case of Castelnuovo. The model also includes the use of rooms within existing buildings, ready to be reborn to accommodate new functions and new travelers.
Castelnuovo Bocca d’Adda is a village that has transformed the VENTO cycle path into an extraordinary growth opportunity. Through a solid collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Milan, the Administration has built a territorial project that focuses on gentle mobility and urban regeneration. Thanks to the Ministry of Culture’s PNRR “Attractiveness of Villages” call for proposals, the Borghilenti project was born: the framework that allowed the hostel to be built, along with interventions to restore the historic center and revitalize the entire town’s culture.
Borghilenti is a project of slow tourism, social inclusion, urban redevelopment and cultural revitalization. The key actions are the opening of Casa Peroni, the first solidarity hostel along the VENTO cycle path, and the organization of the Borghilenti Festival. The project includes interventions in the historic center, workshops for schools and guidelines for building restoration. The Polytechnic University of Milan and the Municipality are testing a replicable river regeneration model here, already extended to the neighboring municipality of Meleti thanks to the support of the Cariplo Foundation.
